Opened up the world as far as book collecting was concerned. I have most of A. Upfields books now, I prefer the English (Heinemann) 1st editions.

I also love Patricia Wentworth book covers and stories (I know they are extremely lightweight, but I like the era)and I prefer the US covers for those.debra@dustjackethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02397055465607649038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8968803817110676732.post-82140970446170917412009-07-17T23:14:26.282-04:002009-07-17T23:14:26.282-04:00I love Little Lord Fauntleroy! Oh, and Arthur Upfield's dust jackets are amazing! I hear that his books are getting harder and harder to find here in the US. One of my favorite books in my collection is a Maurice Sendak first edition that I bought this year at a charity shop! Don't you love when you find treasures in unexpected places?!Gigi Thibodeauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15326335927273800932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8968803817110676732.post-68347461500387433532009-07-17T22:43:32.358-04:002009-07-17T22:43:32.358-04:00They are just so clever, wow. It's amazing you managed to get such good pictures, considering how fast they look!

on previous comment, I have this gorgeous "little Lord Fauntleroy" book from the late 1800's, it's one of my fav's. Proberbly the earliest book with dustjacket intact is late 1920's ~ I think. (they are all in boxes at the moment while we are building our house). I loved collecting the original nancy drew books, because they had lovely dustjackets, but usually I only collect books that I actually read. My favorite is Arthur Upfield, I love his books and his original dustjacket designs.debra@dustjackethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02397055465607649038noreply@blogger.com
