Thank you, Melissa! And thank you, Gigi for this inspiring, thoughtful series! I've always been very close to my immediate family. But we lived far from some of my extended family, so I never really go to know my grandparents, my Mother's parents especially. There were letters through the years, cards & such at Christmas. Something always felt "missing" though, that face-to-face thing and quality time together is so important. Now all grandparents are gone. I often have a sense of not knowing my family legacy or history really is. Gosh, this really has me thinking... Thanks for your lovely visit to my place, Gigi. I do believe we think alike on many things. :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09179096002434748927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8968803817110676732.post-14967313896947802512010-10-14T04:05:36.021-04:002010-10-14T04:05:36.021-04:00Mel, your tale is told with such love and affectio...Mel, your tale is told with such love and affection for your grandparents....that is a true leagcy. xvvicki archerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07847183975086900816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8968803817110676732.post-57372305602769116972010-10-13T23:09:44.261-04:002010-10-13T23:09:44.261-04:00Melissa, I am dying to see that scale - it sounds ...Melissa, I am dying to see that scale - it sounds amazing! I too am from the South. I
am impressed the way Mel has such a relationship with her Grand Parents. This seems to be a rare thing in this generation. The ones I have known live in a world revolving around themselves.
Well that is in Florida. I, too love Mel's blog and always look forward to her posts. Lots of love to you Gigi and I hope that you and yours are enjoying the Autumn weather. XXXX
Now to dear Mel,
Such a lovely post and what a legacy you have acquired. I feel as if those scales were definitely meant to be left to you because of your passion for food. It must be lovely to use them every day and I'm sure that, everytime you use them, you think of your Great Grandfather. I'm sure that he watches you every time you weigh something out and is very pleased that they have fallen into your hands. I loved this post and reading about your family.
Lots of love to you and the family Mel. I like the way you describe a legacy -- hardworking, entrepreneurial values -- embodied both by people and a tangible object.Beehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02375981493145612394noreply@blogger.com
