Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

What's better than a visit from your sister-in-law and her boyfriend?  A visit from your sister-in-law and her boyfriend during the first snowfall of the year.  We ate sushi, shopped the Old Port and Munjoy Hill, waved to the kids on the Polar Express, and took the ferry over to the island while the first flakes flew.

Once home, Todd made us homemade pizzas, then we ran outside to play.  It was perfect snowball snow.  Need I say more?

I went out for a long walk very early this morning and took these snowy photos.  I love the first snowfall of the year, especially the hush it brings.  Hope you all had a beautiful weekend.

I had a fun weekend with Alex and also had a date with my daughter and another with one of my girlfriends always fun. No snow here - but it's finally jacket weather! :) Have an awesome evening, Gigi! xxoo

  6. Hi, friends! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I should mention that the shops I photographed are all in Portland. In order: Fiachre, Old Port Candy Shop, and Eli Phant. A few others we visited that I love: Water Lily for cool fair trade stuff, Club 21 for socks and tights, Laura Fuller Glass (on Munjoy Hill) for amazing windows.

  9. Ah, what gorgeous photos! The garden shed, that shop with goodies, and then the glittering snow. Beautiful! Last night I dreamt I was on The Polar Express, and that Johnny Depp was Santa Claus.

Thanks for the snowy pictorial. Some flakes here in Carmel, but not of the snow kind. Hope Santa finds us.

  16. Your last photograph would make the most perfect Christmas card.

No snow here, only grim rain.

  17. Gigi- these are magical! I am *hoping* we get a desert blizzard but right now it's just wicked windy and sunny but kind of raining...in Montana they call this kind of weather "when the devil beats his wife." Which isn't particularly p.c., but it *is* a vivid description!

  26. Is that a little magpie I see perched upon that powerline? Such gorgeous pictures. The snow has a beautiful way of making us all feel like kids again. Here, where it doesn't snow very often, the novelty never wears off. They are calling for snow today! Will be our first of the year. I keep looking out my window to see if there are any drifting flakes. No sign of them yet, but the day is early. xo
