Missing You

I haven't been able to visit most of my favorite blogs (you know who you are, fabulous peeps) as often as I'd like for the past few weeks, and I'm missing you.  I'm starting to catch up, but if I haven't been leaving comments or stopping by as much as usual, please know that I'm thinking of you.  Often.  In fact, I sometimes stop by without commenting just because I need a dose of loveliness in the midst of a busy and challenging time.

I think we all go through periods like this, and isn't it a reassuring bolster to know that our blog friends are out there making magic?  I often think of Melissa out adventuring with her little Crumb or Relyn dancing with her grade school class or Lily painting beauties in her desert or Ange crafting a graceful letter A or prairiegirl snapping the perfect shot or Marjorie uncovering a vintage treasure or Lenore thinking a brilliant thought or Ciara crafting a beautiful day with her husband and kids or Leigh tending the gardens on her glorious farm or Gillian preparing for an epic voyage . . . to name just a few of the bloggers who inspire me.  I've met some amazing people in the blogosphere, and your presence in my life has cracked my world view wide open at the same time that it's made my daily tasks and challenges and joys all the richer.  It's like possessing both a telescope to see the universe more clearly, each star and satellite, and a microscope that lets me view the small, seemingly inconsequential bits of everyday life, the acorns, seeds, and flower stems, to find the beauty and purpose that I'd often missed before.  Thank you.

  1. Gigi,
I feel the same way. I am new to blogging, but I have found so many inspirational people & ideas. Not to mention all the warm & fuzzys that make the winter a little bit brighter.

You were the first person to follow me & I just want to let you know how that brighten my day (I did a jig). Thank you for all your postive energy. I hope this challenging time passes quickly.
    xoxo

  6. Same feeling here... I'm blown away each week by the sweetness, sharing, caring and giving in blogland... My blogfriends really add so much joy to my week. This week I really feeling much the same. Quietly visiting, leaving little note when I can. The days get so busy sometimes, my mind so full...But I love the sharing of every day things. It's the ordinary-extraordinary that always gets me... *swoon*... Happy Day, Gigi :o) ((BIG HUGS))

  9. Isn't it funny, Gigi. I can be doing some mundane thing and someones comment will pop into my head or, I suddenly think of a blogger who is going on holiday or decorating their house. It has brought another dimension to my life and a rather strange but nice connection to other people, all over the world. XXXX

  10. I cannot imagine my life before blogging, the same way I cannot imagine my days before cell phones. Hmm... Did those times really exist?

  11. Dear Gigi,

I am so very honored that you mentioned me in this post. You inspire me. I so wish I lived back East, then I could be one of your students, and we could go antiquing together.

    With love and gratitude,

  14. There are just so many amazing friends out there through blogging. It does take time. I love it- but somehow have to limit my time- one good read leads to another... and another... and another! When will you be in Maine again? Bird's Nest meringue at Le Garage???

  15. I read and reread your post just for the pure pleasure of reading your writing. You too are the biggest source of light and inspiration. Have been going through a blah period myself but somehow the giggles just keep coming out regardless. And then I read your post again - and the whole world could've caved in around me - and I wouldn't have minded one bit! That's the sort of effect you have you see...

  20. That is the most perfect description of blogging. Just perfect. You know, I find myself wishing for a circle of friends here in my real life that are half so magical, half so kindred as the connections I share here in the ether.

  21. Tee hee...funny how we are all connected. I just wrote a silly post about acorns...nowhere near as elegant as your beautiful words. But nonetheless, we are connected by acorns today.
