Nothing more--or less--today than these end-of-summer cosmos. On difficult days it can be a feat of the will just to look closely, just to see something well. I'm grateful for these flowers, for having eyes to see them, and for having a heart that knows their worth.
I am grateful for your words, Gigi :-)
ReplyDeleteWell said Gigi! What a lovely thing to be grateful for!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful reminder. Me too. Thanks for the lovely words and photo.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous image. Fading flowers, like aging people, have their own distinct beauty. I hope to grow old as gracefully as these cosmos! And, I would like to think those who know and love me will see me as you do these beauties.
ReplyDeletethese are amazing...
ReplyDeletei'm so glad someone else loves dying flowers as much as i do....at least enough to photograph them and call them beautiful.
I feel lucky to read these words and see this photo today...they are both to be cherished!

Such thoughts today... so true. Even in the midst of difficulty, opening our eyes to what is around us revives the spirit. LOVELIEST cosmos... that tender mauve makes the heart sigh. I planted some cosmos this year that are deep chocolate-brown-red. I will miss them during the winter. Happy Weekend, Gigi ((HUGS))

Beautiful!! Love the softness in the image and the gratitude you express here!
ReplyDeleteI love the color of these cosmos, thanks for sharing them. I have cosmos blooming too, but they are bright pink. Lovely, lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese were actually brighter, but I altered them in the processing slightly to accentuate the softness and the fading beauty of the petals.
ReplyDeleteI miss having a proper garden here. Our place is new so we have nothing! Just a new fence. So I'll take some notes and pick out a few for my list that will include cosmos...I love how wild and tall they get. Those and the cleome...I love climbers and tall plants! I too know their worth for I miss them daily.
ReplyDeleteAh next year. xoxo You really are a kind soul, Gigi!

ReplyDeleteyou see very well. and your words speak the truth.
