Wishes

It is easy to tally the challenges and disappointments of a day.  Much harder it is to simply exist among its blessings, recognize its gifts.  The best gifts of this season are as simple as the paperwhite's bloom, as ethereal as its scent.  Here, where winter can be much longer than any other season, a single blossom is a small wish granted.  May your small wishes come true today and every day (for they are often much sweeter than the big ones), and may you always have the time to savor them.

  7. I am working on the simple part Gigi...............less prep and more time to visit and talk............and watch Christmas movies, our favorite thing to do at the end of each day as we get in the holiday spirit. Xo

  8. Dearest Gigi,

Way behind for the year... it does that each year to me! We had our blessing though with the visit of daughter Liz from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She departed on Friday evening. Did post about her yesterday.
    Love to you,
    Mariette

  9. Yes, the small bloom is worth savoring. This morning my cat, Joey, noticed a branch hanging over the side of my paper whites. He loved just touching it and watching it bounce up and down. It was a moment to savor and knew I couldn't run for my camera or the moment would be gone. What fun it was just to watch.

  11. Paperwhites...*swoon*...my fave flowers for this time of year. And it really is the "little things" that mean the most. In these days of rushing around, fun though they are, it is the quiet moments, the small joys, that linger in the heart. Wishing you a sweet week, Gigi :o) ((HUGS))

  13. What a wonderful wish for us dear Gigi:) I am happy that I have taken a moment to stop by and savor your words and photos! I was making wishes yesterday too at OXOXO and was realizing how much easier it is to recognize the gifts of ones life as one gets older...

  14. Lovely post Gigi.
One of my most memorable small wishes was for a parking spot. And I got it - I'll never forget how grateful I was. A small thing that made my day...
