JOY

In the spirit of my friend Relyn's blog, I thought I'd make a list of a few things that are bringing me joy this week.  Relyn is the best list-maker I know.  Seriously, I can't compare, but here goes:

limes
lemons
otto pizza
the portland farmers' market
fresh lavender growing on my porch
anticipating this year's common ground fair
the olive-green j. herbin ink i bought for todd
this post at mortal muses featuring one of my photos!
the photo above of my nephew cannon-balling into the lake
the baby gull who lives with his mum on the rooftop next door
anticipating the josh ritter concert at the newly reopening State Theatre
this book (soon i'll have the cleanest house ever)
this post about delhi by my friend lily
the imminent arrival of autumn
did i mention otto pizza?
my new neighborhood
my sweet, lazy cats
casco bay
mussels
clams
love

  1. I just took a break - I was writing about joy. Not a list, not such loveliness and smiles as I find here - the baby gull just touched me right in that soft spot of my heart - but something different. I took a break and saw your post title. A sign to visit. So glad I did.

My word verification is reborn. Oh yeah.

  7. And triangle-shaped joy at that. I enjoyed your comment about the need to boil certain people, and am glad that there are good things out there in your life too, especially the limes. You have gin and martini too, right?

  18. Reading your list makes me smile. My word for this year is JOY and so JOY lists are extra special. Now I must make a new JOY list for the approaching fall season. When you said Portland Farmers Market I thought I didn't know you lived in Portland, but then I saw you on the other side of the country in Portland. Enjoy Otto's Pizza, it sounds delicious.

  19. Oh, Gigi. Your triangle shaped joy makes me smile, makes me happy, makes me grin. You, my friend, have a gift. Well, so many gifts, but just one of them is for spreading joy. I love you today, my friend. And every day...
