London Calling

Tomorrow we are off to London for a couple of weeks.  Todd's going to do research for his latest book at the British Library, and I'm going to do "research" at Greenwich Market, Portobello Road, Neal's Yard, Kew, Hampstead, Bath, and many of my other favorite places.  I've cobbled together a few posts that are scheduled to appear while I'm away, but I won't have regular access to the internet, so I'll only be checking in sporadically until we return.  I promise to bring back photos and a tale or two to tell!  Below I've posted a few places I love to visit when I'm in London.
Thanks for all your warm wishes over the weekend when I was down.  Your kind thoughts really helped.  Talk to you soon, my friends!
xoxo Gigi

  2. Right now you might think I am the color green from all the rain we've had causing mildew and mold...but you would be wrong!...I am simply green with envy!...
The only time I was fortunate enough to visit England was in 1984...and all photos from that trip are in slides...so you can imagine how often I look at them:)

  7. Enjoy yourself! And if you have the time, do have tea at the Berkeley Hotel...it is exquisite (the china, the little treats, the entire experience is divine!).

  12. Oh, I am so jealous! I have been to England four times and every time I love it more and more! If you are ready for this... I think I lived there in a past life! It felt so much like home. I loved London, but was blown away by the Lakes District. The sheep farms, the stone walls, the English Oaks lining the brooklets, hence the "English Flavor" of Oak Hill Lodge with its Tudor furniture, stately oak trees and appropriately named outbuildings.
The shops you listed... well, fabulous! Our thoughts are with you!

  13. Having been to Portobello Road on a Saturday market day, I was so disappointed. We literally could not stop to look at anything much at all as we were swept up in the constant movement of the crowd. But what a fantastic place. England, The Cottswolds, Bath, London Town, Camden Markets, oh I want to go back right now. The beautiful food departments in Harrods, Whole Foods, Fortnum & Masons, shopping is a wonderful experience you want to do everyday, not a chore you have to do. So envious but have a wonderful time. Love your blog by the way.
