Dream Big

"It is never too late to be what you might have been."
~George Eliot

I took the above photograph last summer on London's South Bank, beside Waterloo Bridge, just before sunset.  That little girl was transfixed by the sunlight on the water.

Yesterday I mentioned a very special woman in my post on the simple things, but I'm providing a link to her story again today just because.  In my mind, she and this little girl are linked by the word "hope."

  1. That is such a beautiful story and so inspiring, Gigi! That is one thing that I truly admired about my dad - he was always learning somthing new everyday and so excited to share it with everyone. He worked very hard to achieve his goals whether it be learning computers or taking spanish lessons - but he always had fun and loved meeting new people. That is how I always want to be too! It truly never is too late! xxoo

  4. I love the picture, and the story you link to is very inspiring and touching. What a great woman! I hope that when I get old I will look and be satisfied whith my life, and not regret on any big things I did or did NOT do... So we must keep on dreaming and fulfilling our dreams :-)

Hope your week and day is good so far.

  5. This is one of my very favourite quotes and I think of it daily as I struggle with something that has placed me right outside my comfort zone! Leigh

  6. It's a good quote, and reminds me of a friend who told me that for all his life people said of him "that fellow has potential", and now, at 40, he's wondering when they'll change it to 'he had potential". So he's quit his job and gone on tour.

  15. Such a wonderful photograph. I hold Eliot's quote dear to my heart. It's never, ever too late to do anything. Well I mean, I know my ballerina days may be behind me, but I never wanted to be a ballerina, so that doesn't really count, now does it?
