Just Touching Base

These days words won't come, and yet I wanted to stop in and tell you I'm thinking of you.  These Star of Bethlehem blossoms say it better than I can.  Thank you for caring and for bringing me your own wise and witty words when I am silent.  I hope I can do the same for you when you need it.

Oh, and an extra special thanks to the beautiful Jackie for bestowing upon me the Happy 101 Award.  Whenever I am down, a visit to her amazing blog is just the lift I need.  I am working on my list of things that make me happy, and I promise to share it soon.  Actually, here's a head start: one of my favorite items on Jackie's list is laughter.  Last night I shared supper with my husband and our deeply funny friend Paula; we ate soup and grilled cheese sandwiches and hung out at her house with her dogs.  Paula made me laugh a lot and think a lot and even cry a little.  And all of these things made me happy.

Hugs to you.  G

I am glad you've been given the 101 award, though I was about to give it to you! :-) Since it doesn't make sense to double up, I will just tell you here, I appreciate you, and your blog is beautiful.
Looking forward to more, whenever your heart is ready...

  5. I hope compiling that list helps, and we're all looking forward to reading it - maybe you should dedicate a day to research for it, i.e. test out things that you know make you happy to see whether they're good enough to make the list. Even if your heart isn't in it, regarding it as a piece of research will keep you going.

  6. A evening with friends and good, simple food--bliss! These flowers are heavenly... they speak so much. Much as I love words myself, I find myself being much more open to no words at all. Sometimes in the silence much can be found. :o) Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))

  7. My dear friend Gigi,
I think that on my list of 10 things that make me happy was laughter and friends..... and, you had both last night. I think that both of these things can lift the clouds, even if it's only for a short while and, as I said, laughter is the BEST medicine. It has been scientifically proven you know, so, I'm glad that you took my advice !! hehe
Please don't worry about doing the 10 things that make you happy thingy. On hindsight, it was bad timing on my part to give it to you.
Maybe, as Mise said, it might take your mind to a happier place for a while. Whatever you want to do, Gigi.
Such a beautiful photograph too. We are still getting snow, so the 'Star of Bethlehem' will make me think of the Spring, which is just around the corner. Take care Gigi and I'll be thinking of you. XXXX

  14. I get friends over in a minute so I got "to run", but I just wanted to stop by and say I am thinking of you. I have understood that you are feeling down for the moment, but good to hear that you had a good time with your friends. I hope this weekend will bring you good moments and joy. I wish you all the best.
