V

is for Variety

We've all heard the expression that Variety is the spice of life.  In my case, it it the chili and pink peppercorn of life, or the lime and black peppercorn of life, or maybe the rose and pistachio of life. At least that has been the case ever since I won the chocolate giveaway at Pretty Far West.  If you have never visited Mise, you simply must.  Her posts are as delicious and peppery as the chocolate flavors I mentioned above.  I read and relish every single one.  Particular recent favorites have dealt with that current blogging quandary of great import: what to do with all the Bonne Maman jars we have stockpiled in our effort to be conscientious lifestyle bloggers, homemakers, crafters, recyclers, photographers, and cool chicks.  The solutions range from the practical to the debauched.  Now that's a blog a girl can love.

I know it may be hard to imagine, but I have actually been sharing my amazing Cocoa Bean Chocolate Company stash with others.  At first I put them out on a pretty tray, stacked neatly in a most artful and tasteful photo-ready fashion, and, sadly, below is what remains.  I forbade anyone to throw the wrappers out until I had photographed them, no matter how crinkled, for that is what life blogging is all about.  I try to tell myself I am not obsessed, but then I just break off another large hunk of chocolate and snap another photo.  That makes me feel much better.  Thank you, Mise, for adding variety and spice to three of my favorite habits compulsions loves: blogging, photography, and, of course, chocolate.

  1. Mmmm! Sounds delicious and fun. I am impressed that you shared-well done! The wrappers are lovely colours and if they had been in my house they(or bits of them at least) would have been stuck in a journal I expect!

  2. Those wrappers are delicious! And I am sure the chocolate was too... is that a crumb I see before me? :)

And agree - Mise's blog at Pretty Far West is a complete treasure, although I do feel sadly lacking in the jar department (gives sentence a stern stare in case it is being naughty).

Congratulations on the win - sounds like it was much appreciated by all!

  9. Gigi~
One of my very dear friends is a Chocolate Addict! I've never met anyone in my entire life who loves chocolate as much as this girl! Seriously, she eats huge chunks of dark raw chocolate all day long (and she is as thin as a pin)! So I'm always on the look-out for something yummy for her to try ~ thanks for the recommendation.
    Bisous,

  13. Thanks for your very kind words, Gigi, and you've given me a perfect excuse to increase my chocolate consumption so that I may have more of these wrappers as perfect photography props. I've never seen debris made to look so artistic.

  18. Dearest Gigi, I believe one vice should always accompany one other. Really, blogging and chocolate go hand in hand don't they? Now, your secret's safe with me...What did the G 'n' T one taste like ? Better than the chili? xxx

  19. The G & T is fantastic--I think it's my favorite, along with the dark chocolate & sea salt. It doesn't have any alcohol--just juniper berries and lime. Mmmmmmmmm.

  22. I get mad chocolate cravings too. I can't help it. If you do want to eat chocolate just make sure it's a clean source. At least that way you won't feel so bad both physically and mentally.
