Winter Light

Just a note to say I'm thinking of you.
The sunlight here is verging on perfect.
Spring is waiting in the wings.
I'm writing more each day than the one before.
Can't wait--but I must--to show you the words.

Tell me what you're making, sewing, building, writing, spinning
into silk out of thin air.

  1. Don't you just love winter in Maine? Such a contemplative and productive time. Just came back from checking on the cottage...and the daffs are up and raring to go!!

  2. Dear Gigi,
I was just saying to someone today, who said that they hate this time of year, that I LOVE it !!
My birthday, frosty mornings, snow, violets, anemones and snowdrops, the chance to wear boots, coats and big scarves and comfort food all add up to good times if you ask me !!
I am going to Cambridge tomorrow so I'll let them know that you are coming !! haha.
Oh, and you might like to look at B&B's in Granchester which is just outside Cambridge....you can walk along the River Cam into Cambridge from there. The English poet, Rupert Brooke lived there in Orchard House and there is The Orchard Tea Garden where he used to take tea.I'm not sure what the B&B's are like but it's just a thought as you might want to stay in the centre of Cambridge. 3. Love writing, but for now I am making soldered charms and also working on developing some new sewing patterns for my business. Each day is a JOY when creating something new.

  4. Such lovely, tender light... gorgeous image, Gigi! These days I am painting--telling stories with paint & canvas. I write in my journal. Reading Japanese poetry. I take photos. I weave love-light into beads and fiber. I daydream over images of Vienna and thrill to that we will be going there in April. Dreaming a lot these days during the winter light... :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

  5. Thinking of you too Gigi and looking ahead to Arpil/May/June, my favorites months of the year. Though it hasn't been an awful winter, I am ready for some warmish walks with Daisy. She is getting restless too. Happy weekend. XO

  6. Such gorgeous soft color in this. Here - there are swans mating and crocuses popping their heads out of the damp ground. Altho early this year - spring has definitely begun!

  7. Really beautiful image, Gigi, I can feel your joy and contentment in this post! Right now I'm finishing up a fabric cuff for a "blog hop" that will take place on Saturday ... all donated to the Rare Gene's Group for moms and caregivers of children in the hospital, just to show some love. It's mostly beaders and jewerly people but they let me play, too!

Just now I am making an inspirational poster for my teacher friends. I told them a quote that inspired my teaching and several have told me how often they think of it. So, I am creating a little "poster" version.
