Yes

Today I'm thinking about mysteries--
doors left unopened.
I'm thinking about what if.
I'm thinking, what the hell.
I'm thinking about turning the knob,
lifting the latch,
or just kicking down the damn door.
There's so much to do, so much to see,
so much I haven't imagined yet . . .
waiting on the other side.

  7. And look at how interesting that door is. Weathered but peachy. A thousand stories to tell... It's beckoning you to just poke it open with your index finger. Yep, I'd give it a good poke. ;)

  8. Out of curiosity and not knowing...I've been studying up on Hemingway today. Wow...you might be some kin! Me? I'd pose some people in front of that door and take pics. Although...if you kick it open I DO want to see what's in there LOL.

  12. You made me think. I'm a bit restless these days. I feel as if something is waiting out there, but I just haven't found it yet. Do you ever feel like that?

  13. Great thoughts about doors. Love the photo too. Love taking photos of doors when I travel and try to imagine what is on the other side. When my son was young he called his eyes doors and I always loved that concept that when we open a door we see.

  16. Gigi, you make me think of Walt Whitman's wonderful lines: 'Unscrew the locks from the doors!/Unscrew the doors themselves from their jambs!' Such a sense of possibility in your gorgeous photo and words.

  17. Ooo...LOVE that door! Where is that?! I have a "thing" for doors and windows... Great encouragement, Gigi. Vulnerability and comfort zones have been on my mind this week. I’m branching out in my creative life and it feels good. At first is was hard though, as staying within my comfort zone was comfortable. I realized I’d lived too long in this cocoon and it was time to break free! So that’s where I’m at now, chipping my way out of the cocoon. Some days still spook, but with each day I’m loving the new found freedom–especially the freedom within. I hope your door-busting feels the same, Gigi! Let us know what you find on the other side! ;o) Happy Days (((HUGS))

  18. I don't know...The door is inviting in a mysterious kind of way. But - I'm feeling kind of scared and vulnerable right now. I'd use the door knocker, give them 5 seconds to respond, then run. I guess I'm not ready to see what's on the other side of the door.
